I reach my outstretched hands desperately into the darkness.
They close on your shadow,
And gently caress your darkened face,
My eyes slowly close, after seeing the illusion of their search,
I lean, ever so cautiously, pressing my stilled and frozen lips against yours,
And you’re Shadow, a mere illusion of who you once were, shatters into a thousand black rose petals,
Dancing around me, so gracefully,
Falling in time with my tears,
You shall be lost to me forever…
I shall look for you until, I myself, become no more than a shadow…
And fall into the ground like the corpse I truly am,
My blood stained eyes dull, no longer sharp crimson,
And my blood, the blood I stole from others, shall dry and wither,
And I may be eternally bound to you once again.
Until that day…
I shall be forever lost in the darkness.
